Mary's House during COVID 19
COVID-19 has been such a trying time, full of sorrow, stress and not knowing what will happen tomorrow. And now, it's Holy Week when we turn our eyes to Jesus and what He took on for us.
He is our hope, we have faith in Him. His love will triumph. That is our Faith.
In the meantime, He asks us to let Him work through us. Loving God first and then letting that overflow into love of neighbor. Thank you for doing what God brings to you to do - listening to the inspirations that come to you.
Updates from Mary's House
Mary's House is considered an essential service and we're open, but we don't have Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) so we've reinvented ourselves!
Women we serve:
-
Pregnant women call or email everyday - they can't get in to see a doctor, they are nervous or afraid.
-
On the phone, Trisha acts as nurse/counselor to answer questions and she directs callers to medical resources still available.
-
We've made "Healthy Pregnancy Bags" full of information for the pregnant women to pick up. And for fun, we give them one of our baby gifts!
-
Some callers are unsure if they even want the baby. Talking to someone calms some of their anxiety.
-
Their reactions? So very grateful that someone cares and offers guidance when they are unsure about having a baby during these uncertain times.
Supporters and donors:
-
Cards from the Fete For Life continue to arrive bringing funds to achieve the goal of opening another day!
-
Some donors have been able to increase their donation to help us help women choose life instead of abortion.
Resources for you or your small business (CARES Act)
Mary's House is a 501(c)3 and I've learned about loans/grants having to do with the CARES Act. I just had to share them with you - feel free to forward this email to people - small business or who are self-employed - that the Paycheck Protection Plan might help.
