Do You Know What to Say?

Introduction To Marys House

Abortion is a hot button political topic, but for a young woman in an unplanned pregnancy, it’s a reality and a popular option the culture puts before her.

Most of us avoid political conversations and we especially don’t know how to talk about abortion without getting into the politics of it.  There’s nothing so uncomfortable as getting into a conversation knowing it can turn into politics fast.

You might not realize that there have been over 32,000 abortions in Shreveport in the last ten years. The morality of that strikes at your heart, but what can you do about it?  Prayer is a must, but you feel frustrated and agitated because you have no idea what to do.  As with everything, it helps to have a clear understanding of the issue, then ideas of what to say and how you can help come to the top of your mind.

That’s why we’ve created An Introduction to Mary’s House. It’s an easy, step-by-step way to learn in one morning all about the history of abortion in the US, how adoption and ‘being a mom’ are presented as alternatives to abortion, and by watching short videos, you'll learn how pregnant moms are supported during and after their pregnancies in Shreveport.  The result of this introduction will give you smart, thoughtful things to say when conversations turn to “choice” or pro-life topics.

Whether you just want to understand more so you know what to say in a conversation or you want to awaken a desire in yourself to do something, take that first step and
sign up for An Introduction to Mary’s House today.

The next Introduction to Mary's House is Thursday, August 15th, 9 a.m. at Mary's House or attend a class in September!
